MBBS (Hons), BMedSc, FRACP
Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist

Sam undertook advanced training at St Vincent’s and Royal Melbourne Hospitals. He then completed a prestigious fellowship in Sydney mentored by esteemed colleagues in the fields of neuroimmunology and neuromuscular disease at Concord Hospital and the Brain and Mind Centre. Sam actively managed an expansive array of autoimmune and hereditary disorders ranging from myasthenia gravis and multiple sclerosis to inflammatory and hereditary neuropathies.

He has a subspecialty interest in neurological disorders with an immune-mediated / autoimmune basis including those associated with inflammatory brain lesions or abnormalities on nerve and/or muscle testing. Sam prides himself on accurate diagnosis and the safe use of immunosuppressive drugs.

His fascination with neuroanatomical localisation lead him to a further fellowship in neurophysiology at St Vincent’s where his technical skills in nerve conduction studies / EMG were refined. Testing can be performed at private practices situated in Richmond and Fitzroy. He also provides bedside neurophysiological testing for inpatients at Epworth Richmond.

Sam maintains his professional development, including regular attendance at conferences, and continues to be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. ‘Downtime’ with his two young girls keeps him inspired and invigorated.
