Dr Alex Tai - Infectious Diseases Physician

Dr Alex Tai graduated from Monash University in 2008. As a hospital intern and medical registrar, he rotated across various Gippsland Hospitals for work, including Warragul Hospital and Bairnsdale Hospital. Following the completion of his basic physician training at Monash Health, Alex pursued infectious diseases training at various Australian Hospitals, including Monash Health, Austin Health and Barwon Health. Alex was the Barwon Health 2017 infectious diseases research fellow, and has worked across both Barwon Health and Ballarat Health in general medicine and infectious diseases. In 2019, after having his young family expand, with 2 boys under 2, Alex relocated his family back to Melbourne.

He has a broad array of infectious diseases interest, particularly in the subjects of antimicrobial resistance and travel medicine. His ongoing interest in health equality and providing specialist care across regional Victoria was solidified by his years as an infectious diseases physician in Western Victoria, as well as his time working at Alice Springs Hospital in 2016.

Dr Tai is now taking new patients.
