Before your teleconsult appointment

A Telehealth video appointment allows you to access health services over a video conference call.

Preparing for a Telehealth video appointment

You will need:

  • A computer which must have a microphone, speakers and camera OR
  • a tablet or mobile phone charged to at least 50%
  • The device will need a browser such as Safari, Chrome or Firefox installed (and updated to latest version)
  • A stable internet connection
  • A quiet private room to call from and somewhere to write down notes from the consultation
  • You should also have your current medications handy so that your doctor can ensure his or her records are up to date
  • In many cases you should have a recent weight measurement, heart rate and blood pressure recording
  • These are particularly important for cardiology patients and kidney issues

How to access the Telehealth video appointment

  • 10 minutes before your allotted appointment you should click on the link provided in the SMS message sent to you from Baw Baw Physicians
  • You will be asked to check your microphone and video camera to ensure they are turned on and working
  • You will then be logged into the doctors digital ‘Waiting Room’
  • Your name will appear on his or her screen
  • In case the doctor is running behind time suggest you have something to read while you wait
  • If your time is critical please ring the rooms 0356 230690 to see if the doctor is running late and maybe to get a later log in time
  • Wait for your doctor to greet you when he or she is available

This telehealth platform is provided to you by your clinic via the Doxy platform, which relies on the software and technologies of third party software providers. The calls are secure and are not recorded by your clinic or the platform and software providers.
